The Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the sale of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan, marking their first major transfer of the summer. With the Portuguese striker gone, the club is now actively searching for a new centre-forward. Reports suggest PSG are considering AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun as a potential replacement.

As expected, Gonçalo Ramos has completed his move to AC Milan. In an official statement, PSG confirmed the transfer: “After three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain and no fewer than 12 trophies won, including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos joins AC Milan on a permanent deal.” The Portuguese forward signed a contract with the Italian club until 2031, leaving a gap in PSG’s attack that the Parisians will now look to fill via the transfer market.
PSG linked with Balogun
According to sources close to the club, PSG have activated a somewhat unexpected lead. The Parisian side is reportedly interested in Folarin Balogun. The AS Monaco striker was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 19 goals in 43 appearances. The American international is also featuring in the World Cup being hosted by the United States. Sporting director Luis Campos and his team are said to appreciate the 24-year-old’s profile, particularly his extensive Ligue 1 experience gained during spells with Reims and Monaco.
Monaco open to selling
For now, PSG have not initiated concrete negotiations, but if they do, Monaco is unlikely to block a sale. The principality club faces financial difficulties after failing to qualify for the Champions League. As a result, Balogun is one of three players placed on the market alongside Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche, the latter also being tracked by PSG. The Parisians could potentially secure a double deal from Monaco, but competition is fierce: Tottenham and Chelsea are also in the race for Folarin Balogun.
