Abidjan, July 5, 2026 – A fresh political force, Alternative crédible (ACR), aiming to present a renewed national vision, was formally introduced to the press by its leaders on Saturday, July 4, 2026, during a conference held in Grand-Bassam.

During the event, Oxyde Tano, who serves as the national executive secretary for ACR, acted as the primary spokesperson. He meticulously outlined the foundational principles, ambitious goals, and overarching vision of this emerging political movement, positioning it as a direct response to the pressing socio-economic and democratic challenges confronting Côte d’Ivoire.

Tano elaborated that this significant initiative took root on December 1, 2025. It sprang from the collective will of diverse women, men, and young individuals, all united by a strong determination to introduce innovative political methodologies within Côte d’Ivoire’s landscape.

According to Mr. Tano, the establishment of ACR is built upon a shared understanding: despite its abundant human and natural resources, Côte d’Ivoire continues to grapple with numerous difficulties. These include, but are not limited to, the escalating cost of living, widespread youth unemployment, persistent social inequalities, deficiencies within public services, and deep-seated social divisions.

Positioning itself as a left-leaning political movement, ACR unequivocally states its commitment to placing human well-being at the core of all its endeavors. Its aspirational vision is to forge a Côte d’Ivoire that is “just, prosperous, reconciled, democratic, solidary, and steadfastly respectful of the rule of law.”

Operating under the compelling slogan, “Demain se décide aujourd’hui” (Tomorrow is decided today), ACR is dedicated to championing a governance model rooted in transparency, constructive dialogue, and an unwavering pursuit of the general interest. In the long term, the party aspires to unite the nation’s vital forces around a credible political project, thereby contributing significantly to the establishment of a more efficient state, a more inclusive economy, and a truly equitable society.

The leadership of ACR unveiled the primary pillars of their political agenda. These include fostering youth employment and entrepreneurship, enhancing the national educational system, ensuring broader access to healthcare services, modernizing the agricultural sector, guaranteeing the security of individuals and property, promoting women’s empowerment, actively combating the high cost of living, stimulating economic development, protecting the environment, and strengthening national unity.

Oxyde Tano affirmed ACR’s openness to engaging in dialogue with all political and social entities that uphold shared values of peace, democracy, social justice, and development. He provided assurance that particular attention will be directed towards young people, women, workers, economic operators, students, and the Ivorian diaspora.

Furthermore, the national executive secretary announced that the movement’s official public launch is scheduled for August in Cocody. During this pivotal ceremony, ACR’s president, Bamba Abou, is set to formally unveil the movement’s comprehensive political vision and its major programmatic orientations.

In preparation for this significant event, a series of awareness tours, general assemblies, the establishment of local coordination bodies, and national campaigns for mobilization and membership will be systematically organized across the entire national territory.

“The time has come to turn a new page in our history,” Oxyde Tano concluded, reiterating ACR’s profound ambition to contribute to building a Côte d’Ivoire that is “more just, stronger, and more prosperous.”
