Affaire Aser : Thierno Alassane Sall dénonce un mensonge d'Etat et pointe la responsabilité d'Ousmane Sonko
Deputy Thierno Alassane Sall has asserted that a confidential memo, dated August 26, 2024, and bearing the signature of former Energy Minister Birame Souleye Diop, unequivocally demonstrates a significant breakdown at the highest levels of government. In a statement released across his social media platforms, the leader of the République des Valeurs party contended that this particular confidential note from August 2024 serves as “irrefutable evidence of a state deception.”

Thierno Alassane Sall maintains that the head of government was made aware of the irregularities surrounding the management of the Agence Sénégalaise d’Électrification Rurale (ASER) at an early stage. In his communication, the parliamentarian declared that “Ousmane Sonko’s responsibility is now overwhelming,” further adding that “the document, which has been circulating for several days, confirms that the Prime Minister was informed, as early as August 2024, of the alleged diversion of the initial advance payment, a portion of which was evidently used to cover SONAC bonuses, according to the minister.”

The deputy sharply criticized the government’s handling of the warnings issued regarding this matter, prior to the intervention of financial partners and regulatory bodies. In his text, Thierno Alassane Sall posed a critical question: “Not only did Prime Minister Sonko disregard this alert, but he also orchestrated a cover-up by proclaiming ‘zero ASER scandal.’ Who was he attempting to shield?”

Furthermore, the parliamentarian highlighted that the leak of this correspondence “reinforces the classification of criminal conspiracy, as identified by the Financial Judicial Pool,” affirming that “this affair represents a crucial test for the judiciary and for the ‘Jub Jubal Jubbanti’ commitment widely proclaimed by the executive.”
