The spokesperson for Chad’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Adam Mahamat, has once again refuted allegations of a plot to destabilize the Central African Republic (CAR) allegedly orchestrated by N’Djamena’s leadership over the weekend.
Chadian diplomacy dismissed these claims as a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at tarnishing Chad’s reputation and straining its relations with its neighboring CAR.
In a stern condemnation of what it termed malicious misinformation tactics, the ministry urged the creators of such narratives to act responsibly. It also called on media outlets and social media users to rely on verified facts rather than unverified rumors.
The statement reiterated that the Republic of Chad has never been, is not, and will never be involved in any subversive activities targeting a fellow African nation. This declaration comes from Chad’s Foreign Affairs Department, which emphasized the country’s commitment to regional stability.
President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno places immense importance on upholding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principle of non-interference. The Chadian government underscores that the stability of the subregion is intrinsically linked to Chad’s own security and peace.
Chad frequently faces accusations—often unsubstantiated—from other Central and East African states, which allege that N’Djamena supports various extraterritorial armed groups. One such example is the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), engaged in conflict with Sudan’s Armed Forces since April 15, 2023.
