World Vision Chad’s Ambitious 2030 Strategy to Transform Lives
N’Djamena — World Vision Chad has unveiled its groundbreaking five-year strategy for 2026-2030, setting an ambitious target to impact the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The comprehensive plan was introduced during a high-profile press conference attended by media representatives, development partners, and government officials at N’Djamena’s Résidence Hotel.
Revolutionary Approach Combines Humanitarian Aid with Long-term Development
The new strategy centers on an integrated approach called the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, which bridges emergency relief with sustainable development and peacebuilding initiatives. As highlighted by Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision, based in Dakar, this innovative framework aims to address Chad’s most pressing challenges through coordinated interventions.
“Every child in Chad deserves not just survival, but the opportunity to thrive,” Denizard stated during the launch event. “Our strategy represents a bold step toward creating lasting change by combining humanitarian assistance with development programs that build resilience and promote peace.”
Targeting Vulnerable Communities Through Seven Key Priorities
The 2026-2030 strategy focuses on seven critical areas aligned with global development goals and Chad’s Vision 2030:
- Maternal and child health: Expanding integrated health services to reduce malnutrition and improve child survival rates
- Nutrition security: Implementing community-based programs to combat acute and chronic malnutrition
- Quality education: Scaling the Unlock Literacy program to ensure foundational reading skills for all children
- Child protection: Strengthening systems to prevent violence, exploitation, and abuse against children
- Climate resilience: Building community adaptation strategies to mitigate climate change impacts
- Social protection: Expanding safety nets for the most vulnerable households
- Peacebuilding: Supporting community dialogue and reconciliation initiatives
According to Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Chad, this strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles. “Our goal is simple yet profound: to ensure that every child in Chad not only survives but can reach their full potential,” Wangoy explained.
Addressing Chad’s Development Challenges Head-On
Chad continues to face significant development hurdles, including persistent poverty affecting 42% of the population, recurrent humanitarian crises, and severe climate vulnerabilities. The new strategy directly targets these challenges through integrated programs that combine immediate relief with long-term solutions.
“The Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach recognizes that we cannot address these challenges in silos,” Denizard noted. “Only through coordinated action can we create sustainable change for Chad’s children and families.”
Call for Collective Action to Achieve Vision 2030
World Vision Chad concluded the launch with a strong call for unified action among all stakeholders. Government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, religious leaders, and media outlets were invited to collaborate in implementing the strategy.
“Transforming Chad’s development trajectory requires all of us working together,” Wangoy emphasized. “By combining our resources and expertise, we can turn current challenges into opportunities for lasting change that benefits every child in the country.”
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to aligning its efforts with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to build a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
