Tidjane Thiam, who leads the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), delivered a pivotal message to the Nation on August 6, 2026. In his address, he lauded President Alassane Ouattara’s recent actions aimed at easing political tensions, simultaneously urging all Ivorians to unite under shared principles of solidarity and optimism.


During his pronouncement, the prominent figure of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire explicitly acknowledged «the steps taken by Alassane Ouattara to foster a more tranquil political environment within our borders.» He posited that these endeavors represent significant and positive indicators for strengthening national cohesion across the country.


Coinciding with the Independence Day festivities held in Yopougon, Tidjane Thiam further revealed that the PDCI-RDA would actively partake in this nationwide celebration. He underscored this choice by emphasizing the inherently unifying essence of the commemoration, stating unequivocally: «We are all Ivorians, and the national holiday belongs to the entire Nation.»


Moreover, the PDCI-RDA president conveyed profound confidence in the nation’s future, highlighting the extensive potential inherent in Côte d’Ivoire. He declared, «Côte d’Ivoire, our homeland, possesses remarkable strengths. It is a fertile ground for talent, innovation, and hope.» He then extended an invitation to all citizens to merge their collective efforts towards constructing a more prosperous and unified nation.
