Fresh off their triumphant Champions League victory, Paris Saint-Germain is already making significant moves behind the scenes to bolster its squad. The Parisian club appears on the verge of securing its first major summer signing, with reports indicating that Aleksey Batrakov’s transfer from Russia for approximately €25 million is nearing completion.

Following their impressive Champions League final win against Arsenal, PSG is shifting its focus to the upcoming season. A key objective in the transfer market is to inject fresh talent without overhauling the successful existing roster. The club’s strategy of investing in promising young prospects continues, and it is in this vein that Aleksey Batrakov seems destined to join PSG. Dmitry Cheltsov, a prominent agent with deep knowledge of the Russian football market, asserts there is now a 95% probability that the offensive midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow will make his move to the French capital.

Batrakov’s imminent arrival at PSG

“Batrakov’s move to Paris is virtually assured, with a 95% certainty. Discussions between the leadership of PSG and Lokomotiv have involved numerous phone calls. This week, Luis Campos is expected in Moscow to finalize the transfer. Only an unforeseen major event could derail this deal. The transfer fee is projected to be €25 million, with a salary around €5 to €6 million. The completion of this transfer is anticipated within the next two weeks,” a source close to the negotiations revealed.

“Batrakov is almost certainly joining PSG”

Andrey Nagibin, a youth coach at Lokomotiv Moscow who previously mentored Aleksey Batrakov, has corroborated the ongoing discussions with PSG. “From what I understand, negotiations with PSG are indeed progressing. He undoubtedly possesses the qualities required to compete at the highest level. However, many adjustments will be necessary. The standard of the French league surpasses that of Russia,” Nagibin explained. “I believe numerous factors must align for Batrakov to earn a starting position. Yet, we have the example of Safonov, who arrived as a backup goalkeeper but seized his opportunity to become a regular starter. I recently spoke with Alexey about this; he is eager to test himself at PSG. I extended my best wishes, hoping everything goes smoothly for him.”
