Morocco has entered a groundbreaking partnership with the World Bank, designed to propel the nation’s next phase of growth while fostering inclusive development. Speaking on the collaboration, Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, underscored the urgent need to create job opportunities for young people and women across both urban and rural landscapes.

«This partnership represents a pivotal moment for Morocco,» Fettah noted. «Its strength lies in its structured approach, merging public and private investments, expertise, and reforms into a unified vision for the country’s future.»

Aligned with Morocco’s New Development Model, this initiative aims to build a more dynamic, equitable, and resilient economy. As youth and women face mounting employment challenges, addressing these gaps has become a national priority.

Three strategic pillars to drive change

To achieve these goals, the partnership outlines three key focus areas:

  • Enhancing business competitiveness: Simplifying regulatory hurdles, fostering fair competition, and expanding financing access for small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Building connected and inclusive cities and regions: Bridging geographical divides by improving market and service accessibility in both urban centers and rural communities.
  • Strengthening human capital: Supporting education reforms, expanding universal healthcare, and broadening social protection systems.

The World Bank will deploy a multi-faceted strategy, leveraging loans, technical guidance, and private capital mobilization to turn these priorities into reality.
