Mr. Jean Pierre Hillah, the newly appointed Governor for District 403-A2 of Lions Club International, commenced his official regional tour in Côte d’Ivoire. His first stop saw him received by Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, the Minister of Planning and Development, at his office on Monday, August 31, 2026.
District 403-A2 encompasses four West African nations: Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions operating within Ivorian territory. The core focus of Lions Club International’s initiatives centers on empowering young people through capacity building and championing environmental protection efforts.
Notably, the esteemed organization reiterated its unwavering commitment to supporting the successful execution of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.
The Minister of Planning and Development emphasized the opportune timing of Governor Hillah’s visit, highlighting that Côte d’Ivoire had just embarked on a fresh cycle of its comprehensive National Development Plan.
The PND 2026-2030 encapsulates the aspirational vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to propel Côte d’Ivoire into the ranks of upper-middle-income countries by the year 2030.
Minister Diarrassouba also noted the significant mobilization of various partners rallying behind the PND 2026-2030. He reaffirmed that the government’s strategic actions are meticulously aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
These productive discussions have paved the way for enhanced cooperation, particularly focusing on critical areas such as youth empowerment, public health, quality education, and environmental stewardship.
