Ouagadougou witnessed a celebration of journalistic excellence on June 19, 2026, during the 29th edition of the prestigious Galian Prizes. Among the honorees was Sié Frédéric Kambou, a journalist from Burkina 24, who received the Ministry of Health Special Prize in the Online Press category.

The award recognized his groundbreaking report titled “Healthcare in Burkina Faso: Breaking Barriers to Access”, published on December 26, 2025. Through extensive fieldwork, Kambou highlighted critical healthcare reforms, including the reduction in medical examination costs and the elimination of dialysis session deposits in public health facilities.

Overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving his trophy, Sié Frédéric Kambou dedicated the prize to his entire team at Burkina 24.
