Bradley Barcola’s humorous take on missed chances after psg’s champions league triumph

On Instagram, the PSG forward playfully reflected on his squandered opportunities late in the Champions League final against the Gunners.

He might have been consumed by regret over his missed scoring chances. Coming on in the 83rd minute of the Champions League final, which Paris Saint-Germain won against Arsenal this Saturday in Budapest (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), Bradley Barcola had two clear opportunities to secure victory for the capital club before the decisive penalty shootout.

The 23-year-old forward was thwarted by a timely intervention from David Raya in the 85th minute. Then, deep into stoppage time (90th + 7), Barcola missed what could have been the match-winning goal. After a somewhat erratic dribble, the former Lyon player, having broken through the Gunners’ defense, saw his powerful shot from a tight angle sail wide of the target.

Ultimately, his missteps proved inconsequential, as PSG triumphed to lift the coveted ‘big-eared trophy’ for the second consecutive year. Barcola himself made light of his missed chances later that evening on his Instagram account.

“Ma3lich, we won”

Alongside a photo showing him with Ousmane Dembélé, trophy in hand, the French international captioned his post: “I should have killed the match, but ma3lich (meaning ‘it’s not a big deal’ in Arabic), we won.”

Notably, the winger did not step up to take a penalty during the shootout. This proved unnecessary, as PSG secured their victory with only one missed spot-kick, claiming yet another title in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
