World Vision Tchad’s Ambitious Roadmap to Empower 3.29 Million Children by 2030

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking five-year strategy (2026-2030) designed to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children, with 3.09 million from the most vulnerable communities. The initiative represents a 20% increase in scope compared to previous efforts, combining humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding into a unified approach.

An integrated approach for lasting impact

The strategy aligns with global frameworks, drawing inspiration from the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). It prioritizes critical areas such as maternal and child health, education, climate resilience, and child protection. The plan also integrates cultural and spiritual dimensions to ensure community buy-in and long-term sustainability.

Key pillars of the strategy

• Health and nutrition: Expanding integrated health services with a strong focus on maternal and infant care, while addressing acute malnutrition in underserved regions.
• Education revolution: Rolling out the Unlock Literacy program to transform early childhood reading skills, ensuring no child is left behind in foundational learning.
• Child protection: Strengthening systems to shield children from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices, fostering safe environments for growth.
• Climate resilience: Empowering communities to adapt to environmental challenges through sustainable agriculture, water access, and disaster preparedness.
• Social protection: Expanding safety nets to break the cycle of poverty, particularly for households in extreme vulnerability.

A call to collective action

During the launch event in N’Djamena, regional director Carla Dominique Denizard emphasized the need for unified efforts: “Every child in Chad deserves not just to survive, but to thrive. This vision is achievable through strong partnerships, grassroots mobilization, and a commitment to cultural relevance.” She highlighted the interconnected challenges facing the region—poverty, climate shocks, insecurity, and mass displacement—underscoring the urgency of an integrated response.

National director Édouard Ngoy Wangoy framed the strategy as a historic milestone, stating: “Our goal is simple yet bold: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, ensuring they grow up healthy, educated, and protected. But we cannot do this alone.”

The organization has appealed to government agencies, financial backers, civil society, religious leaders, and media outlets to collaborate closely. With 42% of Chad’s population living below the poverty line, the stakes could not be higher. By leveraging shared resources and expertise, World Vision Tchad aims to turn current challenges into sustainable opportunities for the nation’s youngest citizens.
