In a Lake province grappling with the aftermath of recent Boko Haram assaults, women have taken a united stand. On Friday, May 22, 2026, in Baga-Sola, members of the Provincial Women’s Network gathered to publicly endorse the country’s defense and security forces, urging collective resilience against the growing terrorist threat.
Led by the network’s president, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, a delegation of women met with the Government Delegate for the Lake province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the Baga-Sola headquarters. Their mission was unequivocal: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material support for troops actively battling Boko Haram in the region.
Achta Adoum Abdoulaye delivered a strong statement on behalf of the women of Lake province, commending the tireless efforts of civil and military authorities in curbing insecurity and protecting local stability. She forcefully condemned the recent terrorist strikes that claimed the lives of several security personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the nation as a whole.
To solidify their pledge, the delegation presented a donation of essential food supplies to the frontline troops engaged in counterinsurgency operations.
In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the women’s initiative as a powerful display of patriotism, emphasizing the indispensable role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
