The National Bureau of Land Freight of Chad (BNFT), alongside freight authorities from Cameroon and the Central African Republic, formalized a groundbreaking digitalization pact for Central African trade corridors on May 12.
This landmark agreement aims to modernize cargo transportation and transit systems, streamlining commercial exchanges across the subregion. By digitalizing transit procedures, the three nations seek to create a more efficient, secure, and transparent framework for goods movement.
The BNFT Director-General, Saleh Youssouf Erda, highlighted the pact’s significance in today’s digital-first landscape. « This agreement embodies our shared commitment to advancing modern logistics and accelerating corridor digitalization. We’re operating in a digital era; this transformation will secure goods flow and expedite operations with unprecedented smoothness, » he noted.
The Central African Republic’s Transport Minister’s representative emphasized that the pact stems from extensive stakeholder consultations. « This initiative will drastically cut delays caused by bureaucratic hurdles while bolstering cargo security—a critical factor in building trust in cross-border trade, » the official stated.
This initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize Central Africa’s transport corridors, fostering deeper economic integration and seamless trade between partner states.
