During an official visit to Ouagadougou, Bénin’s President Romuald Wadagni met with Burkina Faso’s Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to reinforce bilateral relations. The talks centered on strengthening security collaboration and boosting economic ties, with a strong focus on combating terrorism and expanding infrastructure development.

The two leaders highlighted the critical role of Cotonou Port for Burkina Faso’s trade and logistics. They agreed to expedite preparations for the fifth session of the Bénin-Burkina Faso Joint Cooperation Commission, a key platform for deepening cross-border partnerships.

The visit concluded with an official invitation from the Bénin president to his Burkina Faso counterpart, marking another step toward closer regional integration.
