In a Facebook post, Sonko expressed his profound grief over the loss of the esteemed spiritual leader, extending his deepest sympathies to the deceased’s family, the General Khalife of the Mouride Brotherhood, and the entire Senegalese population.

The National Assembly leader recalled the meaningful interactions he shared with the late guide during his visits to Guinguinéo, highlighting the warmth, hospitality, and kindness that defined their encounters.
