Paris Saint-Germain eyes 19-year-old sensation for major squad overhaul

The Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for an active transfer window this summer, aiming to refresh their squad that has dominated recent campaigns. At the heart of their recruitment strategy is Yan Diomandé, a 19-year-old winger from RB Leipzig whose performances have captured attention during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Côte d’Ivoire. His rapid rise in prominence has significantly boosted his market value.

Luis Enrique takes charge of Diomandé pursuit

Luis Enrique, head coach of PSG, has personally stepped into the recruitment process for Yan Diomandé. The Spanish tactician sees the Ivorian talent as the ideal profile to bolster his starting lineup, particularly if Bradley Barcola departs. Despite Enrique’s direct involvement, the deal remains uncertain, with Liverpool also aggressively pursuing Diomandé, and RB Leipzig demanding a minimum of €120 million.

A high-stakes transfer duel unfolds

The competition for Diomandé has even spilled into the Côte d’Ivoire national team camp. Following their 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea, Emerse Faé, the Ivorian manager, addressed the speculation surrounding Diomandé’s future. «When we were in France preparing, journalists said he would sign for PSG. Now, arriving in the U.S., some claim he’s heading to Liverpool. We’ll see. I believe he’s fully focused on the World Cup first, and afterward, he’ll make the best decision for his career,» Faé remarked during a press conference.
