Ousmane Sonko mourns the passing of religious leader Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké

The President of the National Assembly paid a heartfelt tribute to the esteemed religious guide, emphasizing the warm hospitality and exceptional human qualities that defined their numerous interactions.
The President of Senegal’s National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, shared his deep sadness upon learning of the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, the revered Khalife of the Khassim Mbacké family in Guinguinéo. Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké was called to God on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
In a moving message of condolence, Ousmane Sonko honored the memory of the spiritual leader, recalling the many occasions he met with him during his visits to Guinguinéo.

“It is with profound emotion and immense sorrow that I received the news of the return to God of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, Khalife of the Khassim Mbacké family of Guinguinéo,” Sonko stated.
