FC Nantes handed empty stadium ban after last-day Ligue 1 pitch invasion against Toulouse

French Football League’s disciplinary committee issues firm punishment to Nantes after supporter unrest during season finale against Toulouse
The FC Nantes will begin their Ligue 2 campaign without points deducted but with a heavy empty stadium penalty. The French Football League’s disciplinary committee has handed down a firm one-match closure of the Stade de la Beaujoire, coupled with a two-match closure of the Loire stand. The committee also ratified the 0-0 score recorded when play was halted during the May 17 match against Toulouse.
Pitch invasions erupted during the final moments of Nantes’ 34th and final Ligue 1 fixture, as supporters expressed their discontent over the club’s relegation to the second tier. The match was immediately suspended by the referee once the situation became unmanageable.
