The Kingdom of Morocco has elevated humanitarian action to the forefront of its foreign policy and African cooperation, following the forward-thinking vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as affirmed during a public session of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) on Tuesday. Mohamed Arrouchi, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the AU and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), highlighted the country’s unwavering commitment to addressing humanitarian crises across the continent.
Speaking at the AUPSC meeting focused on refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and humanitarian assistance in Africa, Ambassador Arrouchi emphasized that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of King Mohammed VI—who serves as the AU Champion on migration—has made humanitarian aid a cornerstone of its diplomatic and development engagement. The Kingdom has spared no effort to mitigate crises, deploying resources and expertise wherever needed across the African continent.
