Morocco Joins Gaza Stabilization Force with Humanitarian Commitment

In a significant diplomatic and military move, Morocco has officially signed the agreement to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, as directed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The accord was sealed during a high-level meeting in Rabat, chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, with top military officials in attendance.

Humanitarian and Security Role in Gaza

The agreement, signed in the presence of Nickolay Mladenov, Senior Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, underscores Morocco’s commitment to international peacekeeping. According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this participation aligns with the Kingdom’s founding role in the Gaza Peace Council, as outlined during the inaugural meeting in Washington.

Moroccan authorities emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to peace, cooperation, and global solidarity. They highlighted the Royal Armed Forces’ (FAR) extensive experience in United Nations-backed peacekeeping operations, as well as Morocco’s longstanding efforts to promote regional and international stability.

Representatives from the Gaza Peace Council praised Morocco’s contributions, which include deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF’s joint command, integrating Royal Gendarmerie and General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) personnel, and establishing a military field hospital. The signed accord outlines the technical and operational framework for this participation, reflecting a shared determination to restore peace and security in Gaza through humanitarian and security initiatives.
