The newly appointed president of the Autorité de Régulation des Transports Ferroviaires (ARTF), Ludovic Megne Ndong, formally commenced his duties following an official handover ceremony held in Owendo. He steps into this pivotal role, succeeding François Banga Eboumi.

As the former Minister of Housing, Ludovic Megne Ndong now leads the regulatory council with a clear mandate to guide the implementation of new strategic directions for the institution. He emphasized his commitment to upholding the provisions outlined in the ordinance that governs the reorganization and functioning of the ARTF.

Furthermore, Ludovic Megne Ndong plans to foster stronger communication channels with both social partners and the institution’s personnel. This initiative aims to enhance the overall operational efficiency of the authority and improve working conditions for its teams. Among the priority initiatives announced are the strategic redeployment of control teams and the resumption of comprehensive inspections along the vital Transgabonais railway corridor, which stretches from Owendo to Franceville.

The ceremony was attended by key figures, including François Ndong Obiang, the Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions, and Adrien Moukabi, the Executive Secretary of the ARTF. This significant appointment occurs amidst a period of comprehensive reforms currently underway within Gabon’s railway sector.
