King Mohamed VI today presented a glowing assessment of Morocco’s current situation, amid growing global instability, addressing three critical pillars: the nation’s stability and security, which foster public confidence and optimism; robust economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement—now achieving 80% self-sufficiency in food, pharmaceutical, and automotive production; and the accelerated development of renewable energy, particularly green hydrogen. He also stressed tackling persistent regional inequalities to ensure macroeconomic gains translate into tangible daily benefits across all Moroccan regions.

The sovereign underscored the urgency of advancing integration initiatives, stating, « Alongside our economic momentum, we continue to implement numerous human development programs and expand social protection to improve living conditions for all Moroccans and achieve social and territorial justice ».

Calling for national savings mobilization, he emphasized sustaining achievements and embarking on a new phase of continuity with major national projects following the upcoming parliamentary elections on September 23, 2026.

In observance of Throne Day, His Majesty granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including both detainees and those at liberty, as confirmed by a statement from the Ministry of Justice.

“Praise be to God, prayers and peace be upon the Prophet, his family, and companions.

My dear people,

With immense pride and deep satisfaction, We celebrate today the twenty-seventh anniversary of Our accession to the throne—a milestone that has allowed Us to guide the nation’s path for nearly three decades. The responsibility is noble, and the task is monumental.

Drawing from divine wisdom—‘If you are grateful, I will certainly multiply your blessings’—We extend our gratitude to the Almighty for guiding Our steps toward success in fulfilling your aspirations and addressing your concerns.

Never was personal glory or the pursuit of continental or global leadership Our goal. Instead, Our sole focus has always been to serve you with unwavering dedication, ensuring every Moroccan lives with dignity as a free citizen.

Today, reviewing what We have accomplished together fills Us with honor and pride in the magnitude of our achievements and instills confidence in the future.

Rather than personal satisfaction, this progress fuels a gratifying sense of trust and serenity, empowering Us to forge ahead with renewed determination.

Our success is no coincidence—it stems from a clear strategic vision and a governance doctrine rooted in initiative, rigorous execution, constructive self-criticism, and a forward-looking, positive mindset.

The most striking achievement is the stability and security that define our nation today, coupled with the efficient functioning of public institutions.

In a region and world plagued by turmoil, Morocco’s political and institutional stability is a rare and invaluable asset—the cornerstone of our development and a source of national pride.

Morocco’s millennia-old legacy as a sovereign state thrives on the harmony and synergy of its institutions. This foundation enables us to achieve remarkable progress despite challenges, as evidenced by our flawless organization of major continental and international events—a feat that has earned global admiration, though not without envy.

Our resilience was further demonstrated in proactive disaster management, particularly during the recent floods in the Gharb and northern regions.

The synergy of stability, institutional efficiency, and national security has driven positive indicators across all sectors, reinforcing Morocco’s economic emergence and safeguarding its sovereignty.

In 2025, our growth rate reached approximately 4.9%, with projections for 2026 matching or exceeding this figure.

Favorable agricultural conditions—marked by abundant rainfall and a successful harvest—have strengthened our water and food security.

Key industries, including automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and agroprocessing, now form the backbone of our productive fabric, attracting investment and generating wealth and jobs.

Morocco has become Africa’s top automotive exporter, with an annual production capacity nearing one million vehicles. The automotive and aerospace sectors now account for over 40% of the country’s total exports, surpassing phosphates.

Early this year, We inaugurated new industrial units, positioning Morocco among the elite group of nations hosting major hubs for aircraft engines and landing systems manufacturing.

Our renewable energy strategy aims to establish these sources as pillars of energy security and a catalyst for industries seeking competitive, decarbonized power. The operational rollout of the Green Hydrogen Morocco Offer has begun, with licenses granted to the first batch of megaprojects.

In a global climate of resurgent protectionism and supply chain security concerns, We have prioritized enhancing national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency in industrial development.

This is exemplified by our agroprocessing and pharmaceutical industries, which now meet nearly 80% of national demand.

The establishment of an industrial and technological defense and cybersecurity base will gradually bolster defense sovereignty and create development opportunities, reinforcing our country’s status as a regional leader in these sectors.

Alongside economic growth, We are advancing multiple human development initiatives, particularly the expansion of social protection, to improve living standards and achieve social and spatial justice.

It is imperative to implement integrated territorial development programs efficiently, ensuring they encompass all regions without exception.

This transformation demands unprecedented financial resources, primarily mobilized domestically. We therefore urge the national financial sector to continue supporting investment and major projects while broadening access to financing—both banking and non-banking—for SMEs, innovation, industrialization, and exports.

We also call for greater openness and innovation in the sector to optimize domestic savings mobilization, particularly institutional savings, and revitalize financial markets. This will accelerate Morocco’s emergence as a dynamic, developed nation.

Through divine grace, Morocco has solidified its position as a credible, respected, and influential international actor.

Today, the Kingdom stands as a leading economic operator and a sought-after partner in balanced, forward-looking collaborations. This status empowers us to engage confidently with our partners on bilateral and global issues, offering constructive partnership proposals and promising cooperation initiatives.

By diversifying our partnerships, we have strengthened our capabilities and enhanced our impact across all domains.

These economic and social gains transcend governmental and parliamentary mandates. They are the result of a virtuous, cumulative dynamic spanning years, shaped by our country’s strategic vision and sound major decisions.
