The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) has revoked the operating licence of Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.), a microfinance institution based in N’Djamena, marking the beginning of its liquidation process.

In an official statement dated May 21, COBAC confirmed its February 5, 2026 decision to withdraw FINADEV Tchad’s licence as a disciplinary measure. The move follows an assessment that deemed the institution non-compliant with regulatory requirements.

From the moment the decision was communicated, FINADEV Tchad S.A. entered into liquidation, with the process entrusted to a designated liquidator. The mandate, initially set for a maximum of one year, may be extended if circumstances require.
