Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together law enforcement and security agency representatives from all nations involved in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

The visit was integral to the high-level security architecture established for the global football tournament. During his time at the IPCC, the American official held a specific meeting with delegates representing Morocco’s Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) and the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Mr. Raia conveyed his profound gratitude to the Moroccan contingent for their active participation in the event’s security and their significant contributions across all phases of the tournament. He emphasized that the FBI views the Kingdom of Morocco as an exceptionally reliable partner, possessing internationally acclaimed expertise and unparalleled credibility in security matters.

Addressing a gathering of foreign security service representatives at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director further underscored the paramount importance of international partnerships and multilateral cooperation. He stressed that robust intelligence sharing is fundamental to the comprehensive security framework for the World Cup, an event co-hosted by the United States.

Mr. Raia highlighted the immense undertaking involved in safeguarding 78 matches within a span of just under two weeks. He asserted that achieving such a formidable objective would be unattainable without seamless and close international collaboration.

Raia also pointed to a noticeable rise in thwarted threats by American authorities within their own borders. He attributed this success directly to the precision of intelligence transmitted and the unwavering support provided by partner nations.
