Düsseldorf honours Morocco: a milestone in bilateral ties

On June 2, 2026, the Kingdom of Morocco took centre stage at the Konsularischer Abend in Düsseldorf, commemorating 70 years of Moroccan-German relations before an audience of 300 political and economic leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Boutaina Bouabid, Morocco’s Consul General in Düsseldorf, and Mr. Ismail Lamghari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE), highlighted the strength of the strategic partnership between Rabat and Berlin. They also underscored the pivotal role played by the Moroccan diaspora in Germany as a cultural and economic bridge between the two nations.
The event, backed by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), showcased the Kingdom’s appeal and heritage through showcases of recent national achievements, a traditional caftan fashion parade, and a captivating Gnawa performance.
This formal gathering reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to deepen their diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation for the long term.
