Dr Abdourahmane Diouf sharply criticizes Ousmane Sonko’s recent remarks

Dr Abdourahmane Diouf s’en prend de manière virulente à Ousmane Sonko

Ousmane Sonko’s recent criticisms targeting President Bassirou Diomaye Faye have ignited a fiery debate across the Senegalese political landscape. Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf, a prominent minister, has vehemently condemned the Pastef leader’s stance, characterizing it as an “intellectual void” that, in his view, poses a significant threat to the nation’s democratic principles.

The statements made by Ousmane Sonko against the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, continue to provoke widespread reactions within the political arena.

Following the Pastef leader’s declaration at the party’s 48-hour event in Touba, where he labeled the Head of State a “manipulable” president, Minister Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf launched a fierce counter-attack. In a public statement marked by its particularly sharp tone, the government official lashed out at the President of the National Assembly, without explicitly naming him, criticizing both his conduct and his expressed positions.

“Oh, Senegal! This is what happens when a freeloading deputy ascends to the Speaker’s chair of the National Assembly; procedures become meaningless, their substance lost on you; the morality you preach suffocates you, for you are incapable of embodying it; the rigor of analysis crumbles under the weight of a glaring intellectual vacuity; truth gives way to outrageous manipulation, laying the groundwork for a sham revolution, devoid of consistent leadership. The Republic! Nothing but the Republic!” he asserted.
