Chad’s Head of State, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, arrived back in N’Djamena on Wednesday evening, wrapping up a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates. His trip included two key meetings with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, first at the Presidential Palace and later at the Marshal’s private residence.

The visit underscored a commitment to deepen ties between Chad and the UAE, with discussions likely focusing on economic cooperation, security collaboration, and regional stability in the Sahel.

Upon landing at N’Djamena International Airport, the President was greeted by a high-profile delegation, including Prime Minister Amb. Allah-Maye Halina, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, and several cabinet ministers. Also present were the Secretary-General of the Presidency, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, the Deputy Civil Cabinet Director, and the Deputy Personal Secretary, along with N’Djamena’s Mayor.
