Butembo-Beni bishop denounces political drift in DRC
In a message written in memory of the martyrs Charles Lwanga and his companions, Bishop Sikuli Paluku Melchisédech of Butembo-Beni, in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, issued a strong call to Congolese authorities over the worsening security and social situation in his diocese. With bitterness, the bishop noted a “gap between the concerns of politicians and the real, legitimate needs of the Congolese people.”
