Bénin: CENA officials undergo AI training in India for electoral innovation

From July 6 to 10, 2026, a delegation of officials from the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA) of the Bénin are participating in an intensive training program in New Delhi, India. The session focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance electoral processes and administration.

An initiative to modernize electoral management

The training, organized by the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program, aims to equip election officials with practical skills in AI applications for electoral governance. Participants explore key areas such as AI-driven electoral administration, digital governance, ethical considerations, human rights protection, cybersecurity, risk management, and the legal frameworks governing these technologies.

Interactive learning and international collaboration

The curriculum includes lectures, case studies, hands-on demonstrations, interactive workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions with experts and election officials from multiple countries. This collaborative approach enhances participants’ understanding of how AI can be responsibly integrated into electoral systems.
