A tragic incident occurred in the Anguissa district of Yaoundé, where a ten-year-old girl was fatally stabbed during the night of Saturday, June 27 to Sunday, June 28, 2026.
The neighbourhood of Anguissa, in the fourth arrondissement of Yaoundé, woke up to shock and grief on Sunday, June 28. The young victim, Sylvana, aged ten, was brutally stabbed to death by a 22-year-old woman. The suspect claimed she acted under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The attack took place overnight while the girl’s parents were absent.
Little Sylvana succumbed after receiving multiple stab wounds inflicted by her assailant. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended on June 28, 2026, at a place of worship. She is now in the custody of law enforcement, who are continuing their investigation to shed light on this tragedy.
