N’Djamena hosts historic unveiling of World Vision Tchad’s 2026-2030 roadmap
World Vision Tchad has officially introduced its ambitious national strategy for 2026 through 2030, setting an unprecedented goal to directly impact the lives of 3.29 million children—including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable communities—across health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience initiatives.
The strategy was unveiled during a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, attended by leading media outlets, government representatives, development partners, and international stakeholders. The event marked a pivotal moment for the organization, signaling a 20% expansion of its previous strategic ambitions to ensure no child is left behind in Chad’s development journey.
Building resilience through integrated action
The new framework is built on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a groundbreaking approach that bridges emergency relief with long-term sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts. Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for West Africa, emphasized the strategy’s transformative potential, stating that every child in Chad deserves not just survival, but the opportunity to thrive in safety and dignity.
She highlighted Chad’s complex challenges—escalating climate shocks, entrenched poverty affecting 42% of the population, and recurrent humanitarian crises—as key drivers behind the integrated model. The strategy aligns with continental priorities including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), while incorporating Chad’s Vision 2030 national development pillars.
Key focus areas include:
- Nutrition and health integration: Prioritizing maternal and child health to combat malnutrition and reduce preventable deaths.
- Education transformation: Scaling the Unlock Literacy program to build foundational reading skills in early childhood.
- Child protection: Strengthening systems to shield children from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices.
- Climate resilience: Empowering communities with adaptive strategies to withstand environmental shocks.
World Vision Tchad’s National Director, Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, described the launch as a historic milestone for the organization and the nation’s children. He stressed that the strategy reflects a renewed commitment to turning Chad’s pressing challenges into pathways for sustainable progress.
‘Our vision is clear: every child in Chad must not only survive but flourish,’ Wangoy stated. ‘This demands bold collaboration across sectors—government, civil society, faith leaders, and development partners—to create lasting change.’
A call for collective action
Following the unveiling, World Vision Tchad urged all stakeholders to rally behind the strategy. Public authorities, technical partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media were invited to contribute their expertise and resources to ensure the initiative’s success. The organization underscored that only through unified efforts can Chad’s children access the protection, nutrition, education, and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.
The 2026–2030 strategy positions World Vision Tchad as a key player in advancing the country’s Vision 2030 and achieving global development targets, with a sharp focus on equitable, sustainable progress for all children.
