The United Nations Security Council has voiced its strong disapproval of the “vile terrorist” operations carried out by Al-Qaeda-linked militants in Mali. These violent acts, which began on April 25, have prompted an urgent call from international leaders to hold the individuals behind these atrocities accountable.

In an official statement, the Council emphasized the imperative of bringing those who planned, funded, and executed these strikes to justice. The global body insists that all sponsors and organizers of such violence must face legal consequences for their actions.

Mali currently faces a period of deep instability following these unprecedented assaults on key military and strategic locations. The strikes, occurring on April 25 and 26, targeted vital hubs of the administration that has been in power since 2020. This wave of violence resulted in significant losses, including the death of the Minister of Defense, marking a critical escalation in the regional conflict.
