Togo’s judicial system receives a major boost with fresh appointments
Togo has taken a decisive step toward modernizing its judicial infrastructure. In a recent executive session held in Lomé, officials finalized two decree projects confirming the appointment of 28 newly trained magistrates from the Centre de formation des professions de justice (CFPJ).
Two distinct cohorts join the bench
The new appointments follow two successful completion cycles at the judicial training center. The first group comprises:
- 23 civil court judges, who will now serve in various civilian jurisdictions across the country
- 5 military court judges, who will strengthen the judicial arm of the defense and security forces
Formal validation and immediate deployment
The appointments were officially confirmed after receiving the mandatory endorsement from the Superior Council of the Judiciary, ensuring full legal compliance. This approval marks the permanent integration of the new magistrates, who are now authorized to assume their judicial duties without delay.
Enhancing justice through expanded capacity
Government officials emphasize that this strategic recruitment will significantly bolster the judiciary’s operational capacity. The expanded team is expected to:
