In celebration of the 22nd World Blood Donor Day, scheduled for June 14, 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) of Lomé is calling on residents of the capital and surrounding areas to mobilise.
This year’s theme, “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives”, will be highlighted through a special blood collection day on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Two collection sites in Lomé
Donors can visit one of two designated locations:
- the CNTS headquarters at Tokoin Doumasséssé, opposite EP Doumasséssé 1; and
- the Collection and Distribution Post (PCD) of Tokoin, inside the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital (CHU), behind the haemodialysis unit.
A call to solidarity to save lives
Through this initiative, the CNTS aims to strengthen blood reserves and meet the needs of healthcare facilities. The institution urges widespread participation in this donation campaign, reminding that a single donation can help save multiple lives.
“We are all united by the gift,” says the National Blood Transfusion Centre, counting on the generosity and civic commitment of donors to make this operation a success.
The CNTS in Lomé thanks all volunteers in advance for their contribution to this solidarity effort on behalf of patients requiring blood transfusions.
