The Chadian Minister of State for Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, co-chaired this Friday, May 22, a high-level meeting at an N’Djamena hotel. The gathering brought together government officials, United Nations agency representatives, technical and financial partners, civil society leaders, and private sector stakeholders.

This pivotal session served twofold: reviewing progress for the 2024-2026 cooperation framework and formally initiating discussions for the 2027-2030 cycle. The event underscored the depth of the partnership between Chad and the UN system while addressing critical national priorities.

During his address, Tahir Hamid Nguilin highlighted the robust collaboration between Chad and the United Nations. He emphasized the meeting’s strategic importance and reiterated the government’s vision under the Tchad Connexion 2030 National Development Plan. The plan aims to foster a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Chad by prioritizing human capital development, climate adaptation, good governance, youth employment, and women’s empowerment.

« This steering committee session reflects our shared commitment to aligning UN interventions with Chad’s national priorities, » Nguilin stated. « By finalizing the 2026 work plans and laying the groundwork for 2027-2030, we reaffirm our dedication to inclusive growth where no one is left behind. »

The UN Resident Coordinator in Chad, Dr. François Batalingaya, echoed this sentiment. « As we conclude this cycle, our focus shifts to the future, » he noted. « The upcoming 2027-2030 framework will embody renewed ambition to meet financing needs and address the aspirations of the Chadian people. »

Key discussions centered on lessons learned from the current cycle and strategic priorities for 2027-2030, including development financing, social inclusion, and resilience. The next cooperation framework will be fully aligned with the Tchad Connexion 2030 plan to ensure cohesive and impactful progress.
