Parliamentarian Guy Marius Sagna has formally submitted a written inquiry to the government concerning the bonuses designated for Ministry of Sports personnel after Senegal’s historic victory at the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a document made public and dated May 5, 2026, the deputy pressed the Minister of Sports for clarification on the actual disbursement of the rewards that authorities had announced following the Lions’ continental championship success.

Inquiry into Ministry staff bonuses

According to the correspondence, signed by the Deputy of the XVth Legislature, various agents within the Ministry of Sports are eager to ascertain whether they are included among the beneficiaries of the measures declared by the President of the Republic in the aftermath of the CAN. Guy Marius Sagna specifically highlighted that a total sum of 305 million CFA francs was initially earmarked for the bonuses intended for Ministry of Sports employees.

“Madam Minister, have the agents of the Ministry of Sports received their reward?” the deputy’s note to the government unequivocally questioned.
