The Division of Criminal Investigations (DIC) has apprehended Matar Ndiaga Seck, an associate of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. The arrest was executed following a search warrant issued by the police headquarters in Linguère.
Investigation into alleged acts against nature
Matar Ndiaga Seck is linked to a sensitive investigation involving the arrest of 22 individuals in the Djoloff region. These individuals are facing allegations related to “acts against nature,” a legal classification used during the probe in that locality.
Law enforcement officials indicated that the decision to take Seck into custody was based on “consistent evidence” discovered during the ongoing inquiry. He is currently being questioned as part of the wider crackdown in the Djoloff area, which has drawn significant attention due to his proximity to the head of the government.
The authorities are continuing their work to determine the full extent of the involvement of all parties cited in this case, which began with the initial arrests in the northern region of the country.
