Warm encounter between political and religious leaders in Dakar
Dakar — Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko paid a courtesy visit to Monseigneur André Guéye today in the capital, just days before the annual Pèlerinage de Popenguine.
The meeting unfolded in a welcoming atmosphere, fostering genuine exchanges between the two figures. During their discussion, the head of government and the Archbishop of Dakar addressed key topics such as peace, social cohesion and the importance of living together harmoniously across Senegal.
The visit also served as an opportunity for Monseigneur Guéye to offer prayers for a stable, peaceful and prosperous Senegal. The upcoming pilgrimage, one of the country’s most significant Catholic gatherings, draws tens of thousands of devotees to Popenguine each year.
