Despite the ongoing global football spectacle, the transfer window has officially opened, capturing significant attention, even among players currently competing in major tournaments. One such player, Gonçalo Ramos, whose professional trajectory is now clearly defined by a new contract, awaits only the final signature to seal his move.
A significant agreement has been struck between Paris Saint-Germain and Italian giants AC Milan concerning Gonçalo Ramos. This development, initially hinted at by The Athletic, was definitively confirmed on Saturday by Fabrice Hawkins. “Gonçalo Ramos is set to depart Paris Saint-Germain and will sign with AC Milan,” Hawkins stated. “The clubs have just reached a final agreement for a transfer valued at 70 million euros, inclusive of various performance-related bonuses.”
Second Highest Sale in Paris Saint-Germain History
The 25-year-old Portuguese striker, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 from Benfica—initially on a 20 million euro loan deal before a permanent transfer for approximately 65 million euros—is now poised to become the most expensive acquisition in AC Milan’s history. His fee surpasses the 50 million euros paid for Rafael Leao when he moved from Lille in 2019.
From Paris Saint-Germain’s perspective, this transaction represents a remarkable financial achievement. Only the sale of Neymar to Saudi club Al-Hilal in 2023, which generated 90 million euros, has yielded a higher return for the capital club. During his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain, Gonçalo Ramos participated in a total of 131 matches across all competitions, contributing significantly with 45 goals and nine assists.
