Olympique de Marseille finished fifth in Ligue 1 and missed out on the lucrative Champions League, leaving the club in a delicate financial situation.

The revenue shortfall from failing to qualify for Europe’s premier competition forces the Provençal side to focus this summer transfer window on sales. Worse still, the off-season could turn into a clearance sale for Marseille, who lack leverage and must offload their most valuable assets.

The biggest of those is clearly Mason Greenwood. The British striker had expressed his desire to continue his stay in Ligue 1, but he is rapidly moving closer to AS Roma, which has made him its top priority to bolster its attack.

Gouiri also on his way out?

Another major offensive piece could also pack his bags. Amine Gouiri is expected to leave Olympique de Marseille this summer. Arrived a year and a half ago from Stade Rennais, the Algerian international has caught the eye of new sporting director Grégory Lorenzi, who truly appreciates his technical profile. However, the executive has reportedly resigned himself to letting his centre-forward go if a tempting offer comes in.
