The government of Niger has taken a significant step towards the upcoming « Invest in Niger » Forum, scheduled from November 24 to 26, 2026. Authorities officially inaugurated the preparatory committee, entrusting it with the crucial task of transforming this event into a premier showcase of the nation’s economic promise for both domestic and international investors.
The countdown has officially begun in Niamey. Nigerien officials have now installed the ad hoc committee responsible for orchestrating the international « Invest in Niger » Forum. Addressing the newly formed committee members, Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, immediately underscored the profound significance of this gathering for the country’s economic future.

The forum is primarily designed to serve as a vital platform for showcasing diverse investment prospects across several key sectors crucial for national development. According to the minister, Niger possesses immense economic potential, and it is now incumbent upon the authorities to enhance this by cultivating an environment that instills confidence, attracts, and supports both domestic and global capital.
“Niger holds immense economic potential; it is up to the authorities to establish the conditions that reassure, attract, and support investments.” – Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Commerce and Industry
A commitment to diligence and collaboration
The minister subsequently urged the committee members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, strictly adhere to deadlines, and foster seamless collaboration among all stakeholders involved. This directive aims to ensure the resounding success of an event whose aspirations extend beyond national borders. The forum is set to host several distinguished guest countries, including Turkey, China, and Russia, alongside special invitees from across the African continent and beyond.

Extensive diplomatic engagement
In addition to the honored guest nations, delegations from Burkina Faso and Mali, key partners within the Confédération des États du Sahel (AES), are expected to attend. Other participating countries include Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia, reflecting a broad spectrum of international interest in West Africa’s economic prospects.
Four sub-commissions for structured oversight
The ad hoc committee comprises experts from various sectoral ministries and professional bodies. It is organized into four specialized sub-commissions, each with a distinct mandate:
-
Scientific
-
Logistics, exhibition, protocol, and security
-
Communication and institutional coordination
The comprehensive mission assigned to this committee includes defining the event’s organizational strategy, developing the detailed program, identifying bankable projects for presentation to investors, and ensuring the forum’s robust promotion and visibility both nationally and internationally.

Repositioning Niger as an investment hub
Beyond the logistical arrangements, this initiative is integral to a broader political agenda. The authorities of the Refondation are committed to revitalizing the national economy and strategically positioning Niger as a preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The « Invest in Niger » forum thus stands as a crucial economic-diplomatic tool in achieving this ambition, particularly as several countries in the region actively seek to diversify their economic partnerships.
The newly established committee now faces the challenge of transforming this ambitious mandate into an event that meets the government’s high expectations within the coming months.
