The OGC Nice have secured their place in Ligue 1 for another season after a dramatic playoff victory over AS Saint-Étienne. On Friday evening, the Aiglons triumphed 3-1 at the Allianz Riviera, turning around a lackluster first leg that ended goalless. The match was far more intense in the second half, with Nice taking control after Zuriko Davitashvili equalized from the penalty spot. The breakthrough came shortly after when teenage sensation Kail Boudache—just 19 years old—put Nice ahead in the 81st minute, two minutes after the equalizer. Elye Wahi then sealed the win with two late goals (87th and 90+2nd minutes), sparking jubilant celebrations from players and coaching staff alike.

Nice, who finished 16th in the regular season, will join Metz and Nantes in Ligue 1 for the 2026-27 campaign, marking their 25th consecutive season in the top flight. Saint-Étienne, relegated at the end of the 2024-25 season, will now face at least another year in Ligue 2.
