N’Djamena has firmly rejected accusations made by the United Nations regarding civilian fatalities from military strikes in the Lake Chad region. Gassim Chérif Mahamat, the Chadian Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, addressed the national press on Thursday, asserting that these allegations are designed to undermine the Chadian armed forces’ reputation.
“These accusations aim to discredit the Chadian army and can harm its dignity. The Chadian armed forces remain professional and are at the forefront of the fight against terrorism in the Sahel and the Lake Chad basin,” stated Gassim Chérif Mahamat.
