With José Mourinho back at the helm of Real Madrid, the club is actively shaping its new squad and future acquisitions. An agreement in principle has reportedly been reached for the transfer of Marc Cucurella, with the Chelsea player expected to finalize his contract following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.

The strategic overhaul at Real Madrid is well underway. After a season without major trophies, Florentino Perez, recently re-elected as the club’s president, is determined to implement significant changes. Following the official announcement of José Mourinho’s return as head coach, the club’s management has intensified its efforts in the transfer market.

Key signings anticipated after the World Cup

An agreement in principle has been secured for Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid. The Spanish left-back has been a primary target for José Mourinho. The player is therefore poised to depart Chelsea, with his move expected to be formalized after the 2026 World Cup. This operation is projected to be valued at approximately 50 million euros.

Beyond Marc Cucurella, Real Madrid has made considerable progress in assembling its new-look team. Bernardo Silva, whose contract at Manchester City is set to expire, and Ibrahima Konaté, also nearing the end of his Liverpool contract, are both anticipated to arrive in the Spanish capital following the World Cup. Additionally, Denzel Dumfries, the versatile right-back for the Netherlands national team and Inter Milan, is also on the list of expected post-tournament recruits.
