Government targets top Sahel terrorists with financial incentives
In an unprecedented move to bolster national security and combat terrorism across the Sahel, the Malian Government has announced a bounty program targeting seven high-profile terrorist commanders. Each designated individual carries a specific reward ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs for actionable intelligence leading to their capture or neutralization.
The Ministry of Security issued a formal statement outlining the initiative, urging public cooperation. « Authorities are offering substantial financial rewards to anyone providing verifiable, actionable intelligence that facilitates the arrest or elimination of the listed individuals, » the announcement declared.
High-value targets and their bounties
The most prominent figures include Iyad Ag Ghali, whose head is valued at 2 billion CFA francs, followed by Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré—also known as Amadou Kouffa—at 1.5 billion CFA francs. Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala, shares the same bounty of 1.5 billion CFA francs, while Alghabass Ag Intallah is sought for 1 billion CFA francs.
The Government emphasized that these individuals are actively pursued for their alleged roles in orchestrating and executing deadly attacks that have destabilized Mali’s security landscape. Authorities warn that their continued freedom poses grave threats to civilians and national stability.
Citizens are strongly encouraged to remain vigilant and report any credible information to the Armed Forces and security services. Every tip could be pivotal in dismantling these terror networks and restoring peace.
