The French Embassy in Morocco hosted a grand reception in Rabat on July 14th to celebrate French National Day. With over 1,500 attendees, Ambassador Philippe Lalliot emphasized the strengthening bilateral partnership between Morocco and France.

«From Rabat to Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where I recently inaugurated the region’s first Alliance Française—this partnership isn’t just about visions for the future; it’s being built every single day,» Lalliot stated, flanked by Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, representing the government.

Highlighting the depth of cooperation, the ambassador underscored key sectors where Morocco and France collaborate closely. He referenced President Emmanuel Macron’s July 2024 letter to King Mohammed VI, reaffirming France’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara within international frameworks. «Our two nations champion the core principles of global order and multilateral organizations,» Lalliot noted.

He also pointed out that France remains Morocco’s top foreign investor and employer, with French companies playing a pivotal role in driving Morocco’s industrial growth for over a decade. Looking ahead, the ambassador outlined three strategic priorities: tackling global challenges collectively, boosting economic sectors for future growth, and fostering deeper societal ties—especially among the youth, who embody the future of Franco-Moroccan relations. He also praised the «unbreakable human bond» between the peoples of both nations, strengthened by vibrant diaspora communities.
