Manchester City and Nottingham Forest are reportedly nearing a definitive agreement for the transfer of rising star Elliot Anderson. The English midfielder has expressed a strong desire to join the Skyblues, a move that could see the Premier League champions commit an astounding €150 million to secure his services.

Manchester City is poised to make a significant financial outlay. The club from England’s northwest is in a strong position regarding Elliot Anderson’s transfer, reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the 11-cap England international. While City’s previous bid of approximately €140 million was turned down by Forest, both clubs are reportedly narrowing the gap towards Anderson’s club’s valuation, which stands around €150 million. This monumental sale would provide a crucial financial boost for Nottingham Forest, who concluded the last Premier League season in 16th place.

Manchester City holds a considerable advantage in these negotiations, as the 23-year-old Anderson has clearly communicated his wish to join the Skyblues. Should the deal materialize, it could rank among the most expensive transfers in football history, potentially breaking into the top five, or even the top three, depending on the final agreed fee. If the transfer sum surpasses €140 million, Elliot Anderson would be crowned the most expensive midfielder in football history. This move could also eclipse the Premier League transfer record, which was previously cited for Liverpool’s acquisition of Alexander Isak for €150 million.
