The Office National pour l’Organisation du Pèlerinage (ORGEP) has issued urgent directives to Chadian pilgrims preparing for the 2026 Hajj, following key recommendations from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The guidelines were finalized during an international conference in Jeddah, where the Chadian delegation, led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, participated actively.

Strict prohibitions to ensure safety and respect

Among the most critical instructions, the ORGEP emphasizes the absolute ban on any form of political or partisan religious discussions within hotels or on the sacred sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Any gathering or activity with such undertones is strictly forbidden to maintain the sanctity of the pilgrimage and avoid potential conflicts.

Accommodation and hosting rules

To further enhance safety measures, the ORGEP reminds pilgrims that no traveler is permitted to host or accommodate unregistered individuals in their accommodations or on the ritual sites. This rule is designed to prevent unauthorized persons from mingling with pilgrims during this sacred period.

Health precautions in extreme heat

With temperatures expected to soar in Saudi Arabia, authorities strongly advise pilgrims to avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Prolonged walking between ritual sites is also discouraged to prevent heat exhaustion and ensure the well-being of all participants.

Special considerations for vulnerable pilgrims

The ORGEP has made allowances for elderly, sick, or physically challenged pilgrims. These individuals may appoint a trusted representative to perform the Stoning of the Devil (Djamarat) ritual on their behalf, ensuring no one is left behind due to physical limitations.

Emergency protocols

In the event of an emergency, pilgrims are urged to contact the dedicated Saudi assistance hotline at 1966 immediately. This number is monitored around the clock to provide rapid support for any issues—health, security, or logistical—ensuring a swift and effective response.

Commitment to a safe and orderly pilgrimage

Through these measures, the ORGEP calls on all Chadian pilgrims to adhere rigorously to the established guidelines. By doing so, they will not only safeguard their own well-being but also contribute to the smooth and respectful conduct of the 2026 Hajj, upholding the values of discipline, devotion, and unity.
