Abidjan, August 31, 2026 – The official launch of the 2026-2027 coffee and cocoa campaign is set for Tuesday, September 1, 2026. This significant event will coincide with the 10th edition of the National Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC), hosted at the Abidjan Exhibition Park, where crucial farm-gate prices will be unveiled.

The eagerly awaited new prices are expected to be announced by Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, acting on behalf of the Republic’s President, Alassane Ouattara.

During the primary campaign of 2025-2026, which spanned from October 2025 to February 2026, the farm-gate price reached an unprecedented 2,800 FCFA per kilogram. However, the subsequent intermediate campaign, running from March to August 2026, saw a reduction to 1,200 FCFA per kilogram. This adjustment was necessitated by a downturn in international cocoa market prices.

Côte d’Ivoire proudly maintains its position as the world’s leading cocoa producer, contributing an estimated 40% to the global supply.

National production for the 2025-2026 campaign was estimated at nearly 2.2 million tonnes. This period was characterized by considerable volatility in exports and a governmental intervention involving the repurchase of approximately 123,000 tonnes of residual beans, amid a temporary deceleration of global market commercialization.

Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 campaign, production forecasts indicate potential challenges. Climatic constraints and the aging of cocoa and coffee plantations could impact yields. Some market analyses project a decline in Ivorian production, potentially settling around 1.8 million tonnes.

The 10th national cocoa and chocolate days: a pivotal gathering

Scheduled from September 1 to 3, the 10th JNCC represents a pivotal annual gathering for the entire coffee and cocoa industry. It provides an essential platform for dialogue, showcasing innovative initiatives, and solidifying partnerships among institutional, economic, and professional stakeholders.

This anniversary edition is poised to mark a new chapter in the history of the JNCC. It will feature a series of meetings, opportunities for sharing expertise, the promotion of local know-how, and extensive networking among various participants across the sector.

The comprehensive program includes conferences, panel discussions, dedicated exhibition spaces, business-to-business meetings, and networking sessions. The overarching goal is to elevate the JNCC’s standing as a premier platform for fostering dialogue, encouraging innovation, strengthening cooperation, and driving the development of the crucial Ivorian agricultural sector.

Furthermore, the 10th edition will serve as an occasion to review the achievements of previous JNCC events, highlight the progress made, and chart new directions for the sustainable growth and enhanced competitiveness of Côte d’Ivoire’s vital coffee and cocoa industry.
